VESTA, a celestial colossus
Discovered in the Sahara, the VESTA meteorite is a fragment of the eponymous asteroid, a celestial wonder named in honor of the Roman goddess, guardian of the sacred hearth, shining like an ancient beacon within the vast asteroid belt.
Meteorite NWA 16250
Discovered in December 2020, this 5,880-gram meteorite was categorized as Eucrite-melt breccia by the Meteoritical Society. The study of its chemical composition has made it possible to link its origin to the asteroid VESTA.
